Elephants frequent the Limpopo River bed which lends itself to breathtaking views from the lookout point.

 Guests are bound to hear spotted hyena at night and the occasional leopard or lion.

Hillstone is known for its variety of sandstone outcrops, ridges, geological phenomena’s and home to abundant bird species, indigenous trees, wildlife as well as a large leopard population which has often been researched.

Location

By road or by air, we are easy to locate.  

Hillstone is situated approximately 200 km north of Polokwane and 120 km west of Musina.

The GPS coördinates for Hillstone Lodge is S 22 13.349 and E 29 04.895 

Hillstone Lodge borders Botswana’s well-known Northern  Tuli Conservation Area, which houses both Mashatu Game Reserve and Tuli Lodge, in the North.

The World Heritage Site, Mapungubwe National Park, is only 30 km to the east. Ratho Crocodile Farm is another nearby place of interest in this area.

Directions

From Johannesburg, take the N1 North to Polokwane.

As you enter Polokwane, at the roundabout, take the first exit onto Nelson Mandela Drive.

In 3,7km turn right onto Vermikuliet street

In 1,9km turn left onto Witklip street

Continue onto the Dendron road

Continue to Vivo and Alldays.

At the T-junction in Alldays, turn right to Pontdrif.

After approximately 60km you will arrive at the Pontdrif Border Post.

Turn left onto the gravel road for approximately 6km along the Limpopo River.

Continue up the concrete road to the Lodge buildings on your left.
